PREPARATION FOR GASTROSCOPY
Please inform your doctor if you are taking the following medications:
- blood-thinning agents: Warfarin, Aspirin, Ticlid, Plavix
- diabetic medications
DO NOT DRIVE ON THE DAY OF PROCEDURE.
PLEASE HAVE SOMEONE TO ACCOMPANY YOU.
PLEASE BE AT THE ENDOSCOPY CENTRE 1 HOUR BEFORE THE PROCEDURE TIME.
1 Day Before Procedure
8pm | Have your dinner.
You must not take any more food after this. You may continue to take clear fluids.

12midnight | Start fasting. You must not take any more fluids after this. |
Day of Procedure
If you are on medicine for high blood pressure, you can take these medications early in the morning with sips of plain water.
DO NOT TAKE ANY DIABETIC MEDICINE before the procedure.
It is however advisable to bring along this medication to the hospital. You can take the diabetic medication once you start eating after the procedure.
